Plymouth MarjonUniversity students have ranked the institution first university in the UK for Academic Support in this year’s National Student Survey. The survey, conducted by the Office for Students, gathers feedback from nearly half a million students at further and higher education institutions across the UK.
Marjonscored highly in the 2024 survey, featuring in England’s top 10 institutions* across multiple themes including 2nd for Student Voice, top 5 for Freedom of Expression, 6th for Student Union, 6th for Learning Opportunities, and 8th for Assessment and Feedback. The University also came joint 1st for Academic Support scoring 94%, above the national average of 86%.
Students also rated their courses highly at ÃÀ¼§¸ó, 11 subjects scoring more than 90% positivity for academic support, including Outdoor Adventure Education; Physical Education in Secondary Education; BEd Primary Education, Psychology, Psychotherapy and Counselling; Speech and Language Therapy; Sport and Exercise Science; Sports Therapy; Assistant Practitioner (apprenticeship), and Teaching and Learning.
Marjonis developing significant new health programmes, with a three-year Nursing degree launching this September. In a boost for students, the recently launched apprenticeship programme for Assistant Practitioners has appeared for the first time in the survey, scoring 100% for teaching and 100% for academic support. This two-year long foundation degree is supporting the development of the NHS workforce in Plymouth.

Plymouth MarjonUniversity has been highly rated year upon year in many surveys, most recently being ranked 3rd in England for Student Satisfaction in the Complete University Guide 2025, 3rd in England for Social Inclusion in the Good University Guide 2024, and 4th in England for Career Prospects in the WhatUni Student Choice Awards 2024.
